Tekno unveils DAF XD in miniature at IAA 2022 in Hannover

DAF Trucks has launched its new generation of distribution trucks at IAA Transportation 2022. After the overwhelming success of the new XF, XG and XG+, it is now the XD's turn to set a new standard in the distribution sector. And, as no one will have failed to notice, the DAF XD has been named Truck of the Year 2023!

Simultaneously with DAF, Tekno will unveil the new XD at the IAA Transportation 2022 in Hannover, but then in miniature, of course. We are proud that - in addition to the XF, XG and XG+ - we have now been privileged to develop the XD in 1:50 scale.

DAF XD: Start the Future

The XD will be the successor to the CF. The lower cab means that only two entry steps are needed. The aerodynamic design not only reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but also provides generous interior space.
 
Two special introductory models have been produced. Both models are equipped with cameras and are painted in the striking introductory color. The bodies feature the attractive design including the well-known slogan "Start the Future".

4x2 tractor unit (XD-SH) features a sleeper cabin with a high roof. A 2-axle closed trailer is coupled behind it.

6x2 rigid truck (XD-D) with refrigerated cargo body includes a day cabin, which is equipped with an additional window on the passenger side (Kerb View Window).

Close cooperation between DAF and Tekno for lifelike result

The miniatures (1:50 scale) were 3D modeled using the original CAD files. After a number of test models, all parts were fine-tuned. Colors and striping were accurately applied to the models using detailed working drawings. Throughout the entire process, there was close contact between Tekno and DAF to achieve a lifelike miniature model. The result? A beautiful miniature model that matches reality down to the smallest detail.

The award-winning miniature models can be ordered from now on from the DAF shop or from your DAF dealer. As soon as the first transport companies take to the road with the DAF XD, we at Tekno will of course also release them as scale models.
