DAF TOPSLEEPER

DAF TOPSLEEPER

In 1979 DAF introduced the Topsleeper in the F241 cabin series for use in high volume transport. The Topsleeper is a day cabin with an extra high roof, making it suitable as a sleeping place above the seats. As a result, the body length could increase so that more cargo could be taken along per journey, but at the expense of the normal sleeping space.

In addition, there were several advantages. When the driver was asleep, his colleague drove and there was always someone in the truck at parking lots. The risk of theft of the entire truck, including cargo, at lonely stopping points, decreased considerably.

The Topsleeper is back with a vengeance in 1:50. The (diecast) model has been completely redeveloped with the details of 2021. The first model can now be reserved: The DAF 2800 Turbo Intercooling from Moeijes B.V. from Zwaag.
